As cyclone season is in full swing in the top end and east coast of Australia we are prepping all nine Honda CRF450X bikes for six tours this season. Starting with two crossings of the Simpson Desert, with a few day’s rest in Birdsville. We then return west back to Alice Springs to follow the 40th anniversary of the Finke Desert race – the biggest event in the NT.
In July, we will head to Cape York and will be lucky enough to be passing through Bramwell Station for the annual bush bash. A fantastic event and a great opportunity to catch up with our friends from Bramwell.
DB Adventures is looking forward to all four trips to Cape York this year and we are even welcoming back some clients from 2014 who are embarking on different tours.
The DB Adventures team is back together with Rocket keen to crawl back into his bunker under the stars for 2015 along with Scooter and Brad who will join us for selected tours.
We’ve upgraded to a later model gearbox in the Unimog, from Germany, thanks to the help of Unimog Central. We have also started looking at other truck brands for 2016, as we focus on doing tours a little differently with a mixture of big and small adventure bikes.
Next week, I head to Adelaide for the Clipsal 500 with Honda Motorcycles for a few days then back to Queensland for more prep before the first round of Formula One at Albert Park with Network Ten – Go Dan! MotoGP kickstarts the season in Qatar and I reckon this will be the best season in about three years.
A massive thank you to Honda Motorcycles, Michelin, Alpinestars and Shoei for their continued support. I can’t wait to sit around the fire, lay in the sand and swim in a stream and share this great land with you all.
See you soon.
