This new tour has had our departure point and finish change, which makes for a brilliant journey through outback Australia on a motorcycle.
Departing Boulia we head across the plenty Highway over the first few days before we turn south and enjoy the awesome west McDonald Ranges. Before spending a night at our favourite Ooraminna Station in the NT.
Leaving Ooraminna passing through Alice Springs and turning west of the Stuart Highway we head for Papunya. Over the next 3 days this stretch of dirt road through central Australia is one of my favourites for that remote feeling and stunning ranges. Great bush camps, visiting Kintore for fuel and happy faces, we eventually cross the Canning Stock Route and arrive in Marble Bar.
The morning we leave Marble Bar we check out the Gold Comet mine and then head for Karijini National Park for 2 nights, this gives you time to experience this truly amazing National Park. After Karijini it’s Mount Augustus for another 2 nights as well before we finish at the west coast township of Carnarvon.

Departing Carnarvon we head for Mount Augustus for 2 nights to take in this massive 717m high Monocline. Later in the tour you will see the next biggest (Rock) Uluru.
After 2 nights at Mount Augustus National Park we head for the small township of Sandstone to check out the local sites. From Sandstone we head across to Leonora.
Heading east from Leonora on the Great Central Road you start to get a real feel of remoteness even though this dirt road is popular with travellers wanting to see this area. For us its so different to the northern run we do across the Kintore road, but a stunning landscape.
Final few day’s on the GCR we visit a few of the historic sites and have a look at Lassetters Cave before make make tracks towards the Olga’s that we can see in the distance. Our last night at the Camel Farm watching the sun go down over Uluru will be long lasting memory and great chance to capture a great pic. The final day is Uluru to Ooraminna Station (Alice Springs) for a great night.
